Wire Rods

Wire rods are long, cylindrical products made from metal, typically steel, that are produced by rolling or drawing processes. These rods are used as the raw material for manufacturing various types of wire products, such as electrical wire, structural wire, and wire for industrial applications. The manufacturing of wire rods involves casting molten metal into billets, which are then rolled at high temperatures to achieve the desired dimensions.

Product Features

  • Uniformity across the length
  • Excellent finish and low dimensional tolerance.
  • Free from any surface defects
  • Superior grain structure due to no stress and rolling temperature control.
  • Controlled cooling system to ensure low scale formation over products.
  • Low sulphur and phosphorous content.

Manufacturing Process

  • Casting: The first step in the production of wire rods is the casting of molten metal into a solid shape, usually in the form of billets or blooms.
  • Rolling: The billets are heated and passed through rollers to reduce their cross-sectional area and increase their length, forming the wire rod.
  • Cooling: After rolling, the wire rods are cooled to room temperature before being coiled or cut into specific lengths.
